I am sooo done with painting. However, if anyone has a clever idea of a color to paint a sewing room, I am happy to entertain it. I'm currently considering a blue, since it will also be a guest bedroom (ideally) and I don't suppose most people would like to sleep in a bright orange room.

We are going to need help moving (we're girls, we don't have a truck, and we promise we'll feed you). Currently, we still need to put down part of a sub floor and then the actual floor (and by we, I totally mean [info]spyderbug and her father), as well as refinishing a wood floor. As we're planning on going to the Tournoi and the finish has to dry for three days, it's looking like our original move day of the 26th won't work so well. However, Crown is the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd, and is at the beach...

pst, also, if you are going to be in town on May 2nd, check our [info]spyderbug's journal for information on the NAMI walk that day. If you are going to be out of town, you can still donate. For more information, you can also look at her team page: http://www.nami.org/namiwalks09/RAL/Will

For some reason, Gmail is letting the Mary Rose overflow into my inbox instead of it's specially hidden little folder. I do not approve. I also think people need to CALM DOWN before emailing a VERY LARGE listserv with stupid opinions and whining. That is all.

National Organization for Marriage - I read through their webpage. I started reading a book assigned for a sociology class I ended up dropping - "The Case for Marriage: Why Married People Are Happier, Healthier, and Better-Off Financially." It was a little interesting, but the tone seemed 'off,' and I wasn't sure why (aside from it not really reading like an academic source). Turns out it was written by NOM's President. They use a few of her arguments in their pdf info things (which have special Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish formats!). I'm mostly amused by the fear they will be called bigots by saying children require a mother and a father (and actually, there was a Hawaiian court case in the early 90s? that had expert witnesses saying same sex marriage would not harm children) and a quote from a gay couple married in Provincetown who have an open marriage (funny for two reasons: a) Ptown. b) I know *how* many married couples who are non-monogamous?).

Being girls has nothing to do with it!

Blue IS the best to sleep in, but does that mean you'll be falling asleep while you sew? It'll be mostly a sewing room, and the light will be off when people are sleeping, so go for a good sewing color. I suggest ducky yellow. No, actually, white, because that way all of your projects will look good in that room while you're working on them. And you can smear and tack things on the wall like it's an artistic choice on your empty canvas. Especially since you'll probably smear stuff on the wall somehow anyway. :) *You* need a room you can mess up. If guests complain, you can sew them an eye mask. In your sewing room.

And you need to get around to unlinking my defunct blog in your sidebar. I'd delete it, but I lost my password or something.

I would volunteer to help, but since I'm not supposed to be lifting heavy (or really, even light) things, I probably wont be of much use. I can still put-things-in-boxes though, if you guys want help with that.

How about a pale peach? Not a bright, obnoxious 80's peach, but just a really pale orange. It would warm the room up but not be too bright to sleep in.

I know! Is it not ridiculous? This time, though, there should not be any more moving for a long time (assuming nothing horrible happens).

Life is going far better than I would have expected, really.

When is your baby due? That is so very exciting.

I'm so happy for you sweetie! :) Are you guys moving into a house or condo or etc?

Baby is due on July 31st! It's a girl (name: Melody).. still adjusting with that but I'm happy. I think I'm better with boys ;-) but when it is your own, it will be different.

She's moving a lot, feels like an alien inside of me and it's rearranging my "stuff"! :)

Things are great.. couldn't ask for more without being greedy :)

I hope that your move goes smoothly.. what are doing now that you are out of school (you are out right? if not, what are doing now?) :)

Rubber Duckies

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak,
then am I strong. (2 Corinthians 12:8-10)
